History of Practice
In 1973, Corning Dental Associates was established in the Corning area by Dr. Timothy Bates and Dr. John Carozza. In 1975, a new building was constructed and the practice was moved to its current location at 218 Denison Parkway in Corning. In that year, Dr. John Gunselman joined the dental practice. Corning Dental Associates has grown over the years, offering quality family dentistry to generations of families. Dr. Dennis Vargas joined the staff in 2004 and Dr. Lynne Meriwether in 2007. |

Dr. John Carozza - Graduated in 1972 from the State University of New York at Buffalo with doctorate in Dental Medicine - Active member of state and local dental societies - Involved in Study Clubs - Fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International - For many years was a Chairman of the Steuben County Peer Review and assisted in Peer Review at the District Level - Is currently the Steuben County Representative of the Seventh District Dental Society - Lecturer on esthetic and castable materials - President of the Advisory Committee of the Catholic Charities of Schuyler County - Provides dental care for the Catholic Charities of the Southern Tier |

While away from the office, Dr. Carozza enjoys adding to his wine collection, keeping up with his new grandchildren and spending time with family and friends at Seneca Lake. |

Dr. Lynne Meriwether - Graduated in 2002 from Binghamton University with Bachelors degree in Psychobiology - In 2006, received Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine - In 2007, completed residency in General Dentistry at Strong Memorial Hospital - In 2006, received the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award - In 2006, was inducted in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society - Currently serving as Vice President of the Steuben County Dental Society - Is the Steuben County Representative for the 7th District of New York State Dental Society - Provides dental care for the Corning Area Health Ministries - Has been a dentist at Corning Dental Associates since 2007 |

Dr. Dennis Vargas - Graduated in 1997 from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with Bachelors degree in Clinical Laboratory Science - In 2001, received Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the State University of New York at Buffalo - Served as a U.S. Air Force Captain in the Dental Corps until 2004 - Currently serves as President of the Steuben County Dental Society - Member of the C-PP Frank Pierce Health Advisory Committee - Provides dental care for the Corning Area Health Ministries - Attends continuing education courses on Implantology, Endodontics, and Esthetic Dentistry - Has been a dentist with Corning Dental Associates since 2004 |
| When away from the office, Dr. Vargas enjoys spending time with his family. He coaches all three of his children's teams in soccer, basketball and baseball. | |
