Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD)
The temporomandibular joint connects the lower jaw to the skull and includes many muscles and ligaments. This joint can become diseased or over-stressed causing symptoms such as tooth sensitivity, ear pain, jaw tenderness, headaches, and neck pain. This disorder can exhibit symptoms that mimic other conditions, and it is important to have a comprehensive exam with a dentist to determine the cause of the symptoms. There are several treatments for TMD including, stress reducing methods, warm moist heat, stretching exercises, muscle relaxants, and removable appliances. The dentist will develop a customized treatment plan to treat your individual condition.
Sleep Apnea Appliances
Sleep apnea appliances are removable appliances fabricated for patients who are unable to tolerate or wear a CPAP machine. Following a sleep study, diagnosis and letter from your physician, we can determine the best type of appliance for your sleep condition.
Invisalign
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment to align your teeth without the use of common “braces”. The treatment utilizes a series of aligners, similar to clean retainers, to provide minor movement of teeth. Dr. Dennis Vargas and Dr. Paul Thuraisamy are certified Invisalign providers.
Dental Anxiety & Fear
Our core value is providing quality dentistry in a comfortable and gentle environment. If you have dental anxiety or fear, we welcome you to come in for an initial visit so that we can discuss ways to help you feel comfortable so that you may receive treatment. We offer nitrous oxide gas for those patients who are a good candidate. We can also work with your primary care physician to determine if anti-anxiety medication may be appropriate prior to your visits. We also recommend that patients listen to music with earphones during procedures to help create a calming environment.
